Do you remember the 21st night of September?! I sure do and it was epic! M+N got married at the gorgeous Morton Arboretum on a beautiful, warm September Saturday. The ceremony was held outside in the new Grand Garden and the reception took place in the Gingko Room, which serves as the arboretum's cafeteria space during the day. The couple leaned into "fall wedding vibes," choosing a color scheme that incorporated a lot of maroon, pale pink, and gold. They kept decor at a minimum in the ceremony space -- the flowers and fountains already in the garden were stunning. The Gingko Room had a bigger transformation; the florist did an amazing job turning it into an elegant space complete with candles and floral centerpieces.
The backdrop of the Gingko Room is a large lake that guests were able to admire as they ate dinner and listened to speeches from the bride's father, the Matron of Honor, and the Best Man. Once the sun set, the dance floor opened up and it was overflowing for the rest of the night. At one time, the bride even grabbed a microphone and went around the dance floor, singing along to the song playing.
The love that M+N's guests had for them was very apparent as they were pulled into conversations and photos and hugs the whole night. Most guests stayed the whole time, which is unusual for a lot of weddings, especially one with over 200 guests! The couple ended their night with a private last dance where they were able to take a moment to themselves and let it really sink it -- they were finally married!
